Full Time (40 hours/week) Position Available:
Orlando Facility

OFFICE Assistant, BUSINESS OFFICE/FRONT DESK
Required skills and background:
- Highly motivated toward the welfare and humane treatment of animals.
- Minimum of two (2) years relevant work experience
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Accurate typing speed of 70 words per minute.
- Computer proficient in Windows programs (Word, Excel, Access).
- Experience with database management.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience in dealing effectively with the public.
- Routine and regular availability during the day. Occasional early evening or weekend support will be required.
- An FDLE criminal background check is required.
Responsibilities:
- Enter data on membership, donor and community member files, regularly backing up information
- Provide general office management support:
- Input and update donation information daily
- Prepare daily deposits as needed
- Answer the telephone, giving information, directing calls, answering questions
- Greet and direct visitors
- Open and distribute mail
- Maintain postage accounts
- Operate various office machines
- Assist with special events and community programs as needed
- Perform any other duties as needed to meet the needs of the organization.
Compensation:
- Excellent benefits package
- Salary range is $10.00 – $15.00/hour based on relevant experience

ANIMAL CARE SPECIALIST: ORLANDO SHELTER

Required skills and background:
- Applicant must love pets, have experience handling pets, have a customer service attitude, and be able to handle the physical and emotional work necessary
- Shelter is open 7 days a week. Applicants must be available to work any 5 days, including weekends
- Minimum of one (1) year relevant work experience
- High School diploma or GED required. Associates degree preferred
- Computer literate
- Money handling experience
- Reliable transportation
- Bilingual skills helpful
Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities focus on disease control, improvement of animal health and quality of life, and/or alleviation of suffering. Examples of responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Routine scooping, cleaning and disinfecting the living areas of the pets, including the cat rooms and dog kennels (daily as well as throughout each day)
- Daily feeding, watering and exercising shelter pets
- Testing for various diseases and vaccinating as required. Reading test results
- Assisting with assessment of pet behavior and general health and well-being
- Medicating as necessary
- Assisting pet owners with pet relinquishment
- Preparing animals for adoption
- Interviewing potential adopters
- Providing general information to the public in person and by phone
- Entering relinquishment and adoption information into computer
- Collecting and recording fees
- Handle financial transactions with customers, routinely reconciling receipts and services provided
- Maintaining the facility in a clean and orderly manner
Compensation:
- Excellent benefits package
- Salary range is $8.25 – $11.00/hour based on relevant experience
