Introduction

Many animal cruelty suspects are known to be teens and young adults, almost always young males. It is also known that the cruel act of animal abuse is as likely to follow other violent crimes as it is to precede them. You can help BREAK THE CYCLE.

Research

  • What is the connection between animal cruelty and human violence?
  • Why does the FBI take this connection seriously?
  • What are the motives for animal cruelty?
  • Are pets, more often than stray animals, targets of animal cruelty? Why?
  • Are animal abuse and domestic violence interrelated?
  • What does it take to break the cycle?
  • Is it common for serial killers to possess, in earlier years, a history of animal cruelty? Why?
